CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW WEEKEND 2007
The tragic death of the young dog after the show will overshadow everything we report and we of course bear the Clark family in mind in all of the following.
Also our thoughts are with the White family who attending with the carters were contacted by the police on Sunday afternoon to be informed that his parents travelling down to see him at the show were seriously injured in the accident on the A1. Latest is that his father is critical but stable and his mother was due to be released today (Monday). We wish them a speedy and full recovery.
UPDATE: It is with great sadness that the club reports the death of the father of Glen White, one of the Pennine Carters. Mr White was travelling to visit his son at the GB club Working Day on Sunday when he was involved in a Road Traffic Accident close to the venue on the A1. Sadly, as a result of this he passed away on Thursday 27th September. The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Great Britain extends its deepest sympathies to Glen and everyone else in the White family

With the foregoing putting everything into severe perspective it seems almost superficial that we are extremely pleased to report that the week-end seemed to be, by unanimous common consent, easily the best yet. Many of the committee received very favourable comments throughout the week-end, particularly after Saturday night.
The show seemed to go well, the shop had a record week-end, the quiz, the auction, the food and entertainment were all well received on Saturday evening and apart from 1 small hitch with entry forms on Sunday the whole thing was a big success.
Those who stayed over until Monday had a bad night on Sunday as what appeared to be a mini tornado hit the site and many awnings and tents were uprooted and damaged. Combined with the heavy rain this made for an eventful night to finish off the week-end.
Anyway if you enjoyed the week-end you will no doubt want to join us again next year and be pleased to know that we will be back at Sacrewell for an even better event in 2008.
