BERNESE (Puppy) ENQUIRIES

If you are wishing to enquire about Bernese Puppies please include your full name, area and telephone number (preferably a landline) with all enquiries as it is always much better to speak to you directly in a friendly phone call and discuss the Bernese and your existing knowledge and lifestyle than try to cover everything by email.

There is much advice about buying a puppy and finding a breeder within this web site and it is particularly recommended you read through the Frequently Asked Questions page and then through some of the information within the health section.

HONORARY SECRETARY

Acting Honorary Secretary Karen Bird

secretary@bernese.co.uk

"At its committee meeting on Sunday 11th of April the committee of the BMDC of GB considered its vacant Honorary Secretary position as no one was able to make the full commitment required to undertake the full range of responsibility. Therefore the committee have broken the responsibilities of the job down and shared the workload around several members of the committee. Of course we still need a nominated Secretary and the committee are very grateful to Karen Bird for taking the main responsibility of this position.  Although many of the responsibilities have gone elsewhere around the committee this is still a significant commitment. As only an AGM can appoint an Honorary Secretary Karen has to be classed as “Acting” until ratified by an AGM.

If in doubt, details of who to contact for specific areas can be found on the Contacts page of our web site and will be in the forthcoming magazine. Most documents issued by the club are available from the web site including membership/info packs, Champions plate and judges list applications, schedules and all other event literature. The business of the club will continue unaffected by the recent changes."

WEBSITE

The club's website tries to inform members and those interested in the breed about as many events, issues, developments as possible. We try to reflect the whole range of activity across the breed and club and our reports are beginning to build into a history of the breed as they feature prominent dogs and people who appear at our events. If you wish to have a matter raised at committee please contact any committee member, preferably the secretary, and preferably in writing,  email is perfectly acceptable.

The committee is always grateful for any offers of help. We are all volunteers who give up alot of our own time to help manage this large, active club and our events particularly rely on much help from volunteers. If you can spare a little bit of your time to help set up or clear away at any event or can help the club in any other way please contact any committee member or event organiser. If you have any facility, capability, capacity, (cash)!  or special skill that could help the club in any of its activities which you can offer us we will be glad to hear from you.

If you do wish a matter discussed at committee please note our forthcoming 2010 meeting dates are  15th August and 16th October but urgent matters can be considered if necessary before that.
