Companion Show 2006 & Working and Fun Day                        Sunday 24th September

The day dawned with a good forecast but unfortunately the clouds hadn't seen that and hung around until mid morning but at least we had a good clean site!

 When we started with the first carting class everyone soon warmed up and yet again the carters had given us a stunning start to the day. The Decorated cart Disney theme has to be one the best we've ever had at any event and I speak as someone who has entered this class and judged it. The standard just gets higher and higher and the photos do not do justice to the impression these people, dogs and carts made. The imagination and work that goes into them is amazing. The fact someone was proclaimed the winner is almost irrelevant but Glynis Sawyers as Pinnochio was a popular winner, next time though it might help if the shorter one is the puppet and the taller one holds the strings, no wonder you crashed!! 

As we broke for lunch we were treated, and I mean treated, to a display of Heelwork to Music by Helen Boyd and Teal.

For the time being I simply post all the photos, in no particular order whatsoever, for your enjoyment.

The dog's face says it all, "What on earth are you doing mum?" Is the mallet in case all else fails!

The Companion show for all breeds then commenced in the other main ring whilst the novelties were held in this ring. The lunch break was heralded by Helen Boy's Display of Heelwork to Music with Teal. This was better than ever and extremely well received by everyone who gathered around the main ring to watch.

The most striking thing is how much Teal is enjoying herself and we look forward to more displays from this impressive pair. (Might need a pin on the neckpiece next time Helen!)

Straight after the lunch break we re-opened proceedings with the Decorated Cart Swiss theme class. Again it is almost unfair to pick out winners and again for the time being all the photos are shown in no particular order.

By the way Pauline, what on earth is Swiss about having a bust of David Denis on top of your cart!!
