The club again held its Spring Open show at the terrific venue of Grenoside Community Centre near Sheffield on Sunday April 6th 2008. Judge Michelle Gurney, elected by a member's vote attracted an entry of 68 dogs.
You just can't win with the weather can you? We moved the show from February after several years of complete sunshine and were rewarded with mostly sunny but with a few wintery showers although these were only light and brief and never problematical, and most of the time people were able to come and go inside and out as they pleased. Show Secretary Mark Wakeland had things well organised and the catering by Jeanette and her helpers, notably Nik, Dave and Judi this year, helped us all get through the day.
Judging the Bitch Line Up
The club Bernershop had a busy day with a good income for this show, the raffle was well supported and the usual laid back atmosphere prevailed all day. This venue is very popular with the exhibitors having plenty of space outside and a large park to exercise dogs and a friendly cosy atmosphere inside. We'd like to thank all the exhibitors for entering and making it such a successful show and especially like to thank all the people who volunteer and help make the show such a pleasant day, from the workers in the kitchen, the stewards and all the people who help to clear away at the end of the day.
Next year's show is a little later in the year on Sunday 3rd of May and we hope to see you all there again.

1 Atherton’s Feorena Loud ‘N’ Proud Four and a half year old medium sized male. Excellent head with kind expression. Good bone for size, although I would prefer a little more length of leg. What an absolute showman, excellently presented. A dog that has always caught my eye. Best Dog
2 Stewart’s Alisonbern Gus who’s at Jaybiem Four years old upper medium sized dog who I liked very much. Well off for bone and completely balanced. Firm top line held on the move. Slightly over marked for me but still has a good head. Excellent presentation. He gave number one a run for his money today.
3 Scobie’s Torralbaz Dazzle-on Days Another 4 year old male. Medium size with good head. Out of coat on the day but short coupled with good angles. He carried his tail a little high. Not at his best today.

1 Gerrard’s Torralbaz Designer Diamond Beautiful head, eye and expression. Out of coat today making her look rather long and lean. Moved well holding her topline. Excellent temperament.
2 McComicks Torralbaz Diamond Princess Litter sister to winner and very similar. Just preferred head and expression of my winner
3 Hannon’s Gipsy Rose Feminine bitch with little substance, lighter in bone that first and second. Happy temperament. Moved ok
Special Junior Bitch
1 Baldwin’s Forntonpark Futures Magic As the name suggests I think it is! What a beautiful balanced bitch she is. Good topline with good lay of shoulders. Good angulation front and aft. Excellent mover and good tail carriage. Head needs to come on to match her superb body.
2 Jones’s Agapemone Penelope Pitstop 12 month old very feminine bitch with good outline. Not the maturity in body of the winner. Front could be better. Moved well. Happy temperament.
3 Harrington’s Ardenbridge Massey 14 month bitch. Overall shape is very balanced with good head and expression. I was disappointed with her front movement. Excellent temperament.
Junior Bitch 4 entries (3 abs)

1 Spooner’s Barinkar Future Dream JW 3 year old attractive, balanced feminine bitch with excellent head and eye. Short coupled body with good angulation front and rear. Well rounded croup with well let down short hocks, carried her tail to the side today but this did not spoil her excellent movement. Best in show. I did not recognise the picture of her on the GB web site!
2 Miles Jaybien INVU Two and a half years old, very strong but with good shaped body. Excellent bone, moved well. Preferred the head and expression of my winner
