The Club's Annual Handbook
The club has published an Annual Handbook almost every year since 1984 and when saved together on your bookshelf these form a fascinating record of the breed and its prominent dogs and people. With details of the main winners for the previous year, features relevant to the breed and lots of fantastic photos of member's Bernese this is a much awaited treat, nowadays first issued to members at Crufts every year. The handbook goes to all members all over the world and some overseas visitors buy it at Crufts to look at a sample of British Bernese. In recent years spare copies have been given to visitors to the International Seminars so by being a part of the handbook your dogs and your name really do get noticed all over the Bernese Mountain Dog world.
Many people however just want to share their beautiful dogs with the rest of the world. Many people involved in showing particularly choose to have a page in the handbook and this will ensure the memory of their dogs is kept for members who save the books each year to build a really good and interesting archive which you can dip into for ever. Additionally nowadays there is the option to add your handbook page(s) page to this web site, (see the links below).
Handbook forms to advertise in the next year's handbook are sent to all members or can be downloaded from this site in the latter part of the year.
Our current handbook editor is Karen Bird who can be contacted directly by email on handbook@bernese.co.uk
