Some of these clubs are exclusively for BMDs but its not unusual for the main/only national club to cover all four Swiss Mountain Breeds. (Great Swiss Mountain Dog, Appenzeller, Entlebucher and BMD). In the vast majority, if not all cases, the BMD will be by far the most numerous and largest part of the club.

Generally speaking the English Speaking world (UK, America, Canada and Australia) have their own independent Kennel Clubs and therefore their own Breed Standards but most of the rest of the World are under the umbrella organisation of the FCI clubs (via their National Kennel Clubs) and will be breeding and showing to the International FCI standard (see link above).

Several of the countries mentioned below have further regional Bernese clubs, (esp America)

Please note that many of these sites do not have any English language content - but its sometimes surprising what you can deduce and work out from the odd word here and there and the photographs. You can have hours of Bernese browsing fun never knowing just what is coming next! Usually you need to look for a little Union Jack or Stars and Stripes tucked away on the home page otherwise its pot luck!
